everyone seems to be celebrating every occasion in their own tune.
Many people also come to this city for liberation and purification and feel blessed after taking a dip in the holy waters of the Ganges.
As beautiful as the present is of this city, there is a more mysterious past than that.
The city has been a major site of culture, mythology, literature and art for centuries.
According to mythology, Varanasi came into existence when Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati got married.
Later the Aryans settled here and promoted the trade of silk, muslin, ivory and perfumes etc.
There is no dearth of places to see and visit in this city situated on the banks of river Ganga.
While living in this city, you can visit a dozen tourist places,
but there is no answer to the satisfaction and comfort that comes in feeling this city by sitting on the ghats here.

Durga Temple, Ramnagar Fort and Museum, Chunar Fort, Varanasi Sarnath Temple, Banaras Silk Emporium, Godowalia Market are the places in this city whose One should never forget to visit here.
Apart from these sites, Varanasi has Jantar-Mantar (observatory) on the other side of the river.
There is also a new Vishwanath temple in the premises of Banaras Hindu University,
a center of classical dance, music and religion and science education, which took 35 years to build from 1931 to 1966.
